At the moment, this site is very focused on Rooke, and not much on my other work. That's intentional. Rooke is my debut novel, and when I put it out into the world I was, as perhaps most writers are, very tentative. The story seemed to capture people's attention, and since I'd already plotted three novels in the series, I decided to reward that commitment from readers with a commitment of my own.

 

So for the next couple of years, I'm all about DCI Alanna Rooke. She's a character I've grown very fond of, and I hope you'll enjoy her too.

ABOUT T.G HOFMAN

T.G. Hofman is a playwright, author and director based in the UK.

He is a Presiding Justice in the criminal courts of England and Wales and also sits in the Crown Court in Newcastle upon Tyne.

His debut novel, ROOKE, follows Detective Chief Inspector Alanna Rooke across Newcastle, Gateshead and the wild Northumberland coast as she pushes against something far more dangerous than the gangland killing she was sent to investigate. Readers have compared it to LJ Ross, Anne Cleeves and Val McDermid.
